Personality:
Rhydian has grown to fear social interactions due to a troubled past, that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy it, it simply means that his anxiety causes difficulty with social situations; Rhydian doubts himself frequently and has trouble believing that people could ever truly like him. He quite often feels that when people make attempts to befriend him it's all a joke being made at his expense, and he can't help that, it's just how life has treated him up until this point, heartless bullies, and weak minded friends afraid to stick up for him. This caused him to become quite introverted, he wants to get better and be loved by someone special, and have true friends who can accept him for who he is, but he just struggles to know how exactly.

Rhydian is most at home when singing to himself or Pokemon as it brings him with a certain calmness, and a form of escapism from the world around him, he has sang from a young age and at one point people had even tipped him for stardom but insecurities and lack of confidence cast the voice deep down inside him, only willing itself to emerge when he's absolutely certain he's not got a human audience. He also tends to write pieces of poetry to channel his emotions into, and when unable to create these pieces for any reason, be it lack of means, or time, he can become increasingly stressed and agitated with himself, struggling to cope with the way he's feeling.

Rhydian's voice tends to be slightly higher than most males, not too much so but just to a noticeable degree, too noticeable for his liking but noticeable all the same, he feels as though it only creates another reason for people to single him out. He's not the best cook, not in any sense of the word, he always tries his hardest but struggles to create meals which are... well... edible? Not that he realizes how inept he was at this particular skill, believing wholeheartedly that he could in fact create food which people may enjoy, if only they gave him a chance.

Rhydian gets rather antsy about his personal hygiene, given the choice he'd likely shower twice a day and clean his hands as often as possible just so that he doesn't appear dirty or unkempt to others, holding their opinions in probably a higher regard than he really should because when you look at him, it'd be hard to find a thing wrong; apart from the obvious of course which in itself has it's own beauty. He seems to be unable to function without the direct approval of others, and if he can't get it he can grow desperate in his attempts to gain favour, doing things he probably wouldn't want to do given the choice.

Rhydian is kind-hearted and helpful, when faced with an opportunity to help someone he'd always want to do his best to do just that, simply because he knew it was the right thing to do. Rhydian always maintained a strong moral compass, it wasn't an easy thing for him to do something that could be perceived as deceptive, or dishonest, be it keeping money which he finds on the ground which isn't his, or lying to people about whether or not he really wanted to do something, so that he could spare their feelings. Rhydian to most would be considered borderline angelic, I mean sure he struggles, but could that honestly invalidate a person's true nature and heart?

Motivations:
Rhydian finds his motivation in his desire to make his family proud, despite all of his struggles, they'd always supported him and he feels he owes it to them to make something of himself, regardless of how hard the journey is. He finds himself determined deep down to prove others wrong, to show that he's more than just his heterochromia, more than the scaredy Skitty afraid of practically anything that moves, more than all the problems that the world sees in him. In his heart he wants to become more, to build himself as a person, and be someone that a potential boyfriend would be proud to have, instead of embarrassed by.

History:
Rhydian was born to your average working class family, his mother Irene was a Pharmacist, and his father Blake worked as a Software Developer for a firm which aimed to revolutionize wearable technology for trainers. Rhydian has 2 sisters in Peyton, 16 and Quinn, 9 with whom he shared a close bond with, they lived in your standard 3 bedroom, two-storey house in the middle of Celadon City. When born doctors weren't sure what exactly was wrong with Rhydian, they perceived his eyes to be a bad omen but soon discovered it to instead be heterochromia, this in turn came with it's own battles to prevent blindness in the future. Following a short stay in the hospital he was allowed home where he received a loving and good quality upbringing surrounded by family, and parents who doted on him. Despite this he never truly felt accepted, like when he'd go to school he'd tend to hide himself at the back of the class and lose himself in books, just so that he wouldn't be noticed, because when people noticed him they could be quite cruel, and had been known to refer to him as Captain with mean-hearted jibes of "aye aye Captain" across the playground at school about his condition, this left him feeling alone even when surrounded by people.

As he got older he'd grown distant from people, which troubled his parents greatly, as they only ever wanted their little boy to be happy; sure they knew he was different but that shouldn't mean he couldn't live a good, happy life. He left school at a relatively early age due to immense pressure from his fellow students, following which he dedicated his time to looking after his family's Pokemon and helping round the house which though his parent's appreciated; especially with the birth of his sisters; they wanted something more for him, something better than being stuck toiling away with little to gain for himself from it. From this they sent Rhydian to try and gain a broader knowledge of the Pokemon world under the tutelage of Erika the city's gym leader, of course she was far too busy to provide focused tutelage, but just by studying her and how beautifully she could handle herself in a battle he found a greater appreciation for Pokemon and how powerful and mysterious they truly are; not to mention she was always dressed impeccably in elegant kimonos which Rhydian grew to love too, not that he could tell people that for fear of ridicule.

Before leaving the gym and Erika behind at the request of his parents and Erika, in order to pursue a greater purpose by journeying through the region like many trainers before him, he was met with an Oddish he'd taken personal care of during his time at the gym. This Oddish didn't actually belong to anyone but just felt at home in the Celadon Gym's Greenhouse environment, and more specifically it felt at home when close to Rhydian, like Rhydian understood him better than anyone else could, as Rhydian saw it for more than just a Pokemon, he considered the Oddish a friend, something which with the modern dynamic of trainers was not always guaranteed. So when Rhydian intended to leave on his journey without Oddish he was rather distressed and began kicking up a serious fuss and tantrum, leading Erika to the conclusion that Oddish's place was at Rhydian's side; not wasting it's life away stuck inside the Greenhouse, it too deserved adventure. This led to Rhydian offering out the opportunity to Oddish in the form of a pokeball, to join him on his new adventure, and for once in his life Rhydian wasn't in two minds about it, he wasn't uncertain, because he knew Oddish's feelings about him were true, as they had always been. Oddish made haste for the pokeball and within a single rock and sound, the pair were bonded, now destined to face whatever came their way together, as a team, and as friends.

Rhydian and Oddish; who he had warmly decided to name Kennedy because of a fondness for the name and a desire to build a greater bond with him; then made their way to the distant Viridian City Forest in order to begin their training under this new; Trainer & Pokemon dynamic and prepare them for the many battles they would most certainly have ahead of them.
